As I stated in my first post, I have started this blog to help me gather information about how to have a positive pregnancy. I want to start by getting as many people as possible to answer a weekly question about their pregnancy. Please tell your friends and pass on this blog to as many mommies as possible, the more answers I can get the better. Also, I will share my answer to the question. Here goes....
This week's question is: How did you know when you were ready to be a mommy?
My answer: I have always wanted to be a mommy. I was very into dolls and babysitting as a kid. But I really knew I was ready when I married my husband. He was my high-school sweetheart and I have known him since I was 16. After high school we went our separate ways and reconnected a few years ago. The day that we said "I do" we knew that we wanted to start a family right away. It just seemed as if all our little ducks were in a row and that there was no time like the present to begin the next phase of our lives. I started wandering the baby aisles of Target and Wal-Mart, I could spot a baby bump from a mile away! Knowing I had a hormonal imbalance that I had yet been able to control, we began meeting with the fertility doctor. Turns out we didn't need it - 6 months after our wedding, and 2 weeks before our first big appointment, we found out we were pregnant (without complicated medical interventions) and were on cloud nine!
There! Now that was easy. I look forward to hearing from many many mommies. Thanks for your participation.

Just Getting Started..
OK, so I am not pregnant, currently. I have been pregnant and I have a beautiful son, my first. This is the beginning of a blog for a book I am writing about all of the positive things about pregnancy. I LOVED being pregnant, and I can't wait to do it again. When I was pregnant though, so many people seemed to go out of their way to point out all of the negative stuff and said and did things that I found downright nasty. For example, it seems that most women relish the fact that they can get away with calling you fat; "Wow, you are sooooooooooo...... HUGE! (giggle giggle)"
Anyway, I am now on a mission to make sure that women who are pregnant for the first time, or women who have been pregnant 6 times (like my sister) know that a positive pregnancy is not only possible, it is every woman's birth right!
I have a few goals for this blog.
1. Share information that I have learned that helped me have a positive pregnancy.
2. Try out some material for my book that I plan to write (sometime I think that I am funnier than I am - so please tell me if I am being a nerd!)
3. Find women across the country, or across the world to take my surveys and give comments to be used as research and as part of the book.
4. Inspire women who are scared or negative about their pregnancy to have the best possible experience for them.
5. Practice writing and typing so that I can get this book done in the next 6 months.
I am sure there are more goals that I just can't think of right now.
Also, I am not sure that I will be able to post every day - I am going to shoot for at least once a week to begin with, so bear with me and keep checking back.
Thanks so much. I look forward to making contacts, having conversations, and getting comments.
